Sung Heun Kim– Korea/Italy

My name is Sung Heun Kim. I was born in Korea, but now I live in Italy, Milan. I am a sculptor, and sometimes I make installations, photography and painting.

Now I have a project in installation. The theme is “Human is born of the land, and after returns to the land.” First I make sculptures over human faces, not terra cotta, but more of a “sarco” plaster material from the earth, first I put a barrier, then I add water and the form takes shape of the face, a kind of landscape. I take the shape of many people.

This is everything, making each all the same way, the human shape born of the land, and when dead, returning to it.
